Balanced Attack Foils Visiting Penn State Abington

MIDDLETOWN, PA - The Lady Lion balance attack helps lift Penn State Harrisburg pass visiting Penn State Abington, Wednesday, January 27th, at the Capital Union Building, 68-43.

A three-point field goal from Dorothea Dixon (Middletown, PA/Middletown) to start the game would mark the beginning of a very long night for Abington with Harrisburg never relinquishing the lead.

After a 40 percent shooting effort in the first half and a 36-18 halftime lead, the blue and white keep the visiting Lions at bay not allowing Penn State Abington to get within a single digit margin.

Penn State Harrisburg featured four players in double digits led by Nicola Zangari (Etters, PA/Red Land) with 15 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Stephanie Yetter (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata) chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds. Brittany Adams (Dillsburg, PA/Northern)collected her 2nd career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds adding four steals. Amaris Gardner (Virginia Beach, VA/Bayside)finished with a season-high, 13 points, going 4-for-8 from the field connecting on 3-of-7 from behind the arc.

Penn State Abington was led by Trish Watson with 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Samantha Frick and Elizabeth Hilbert both finished with 10 points in the losing effort.

The Lady Lions (8-9) travel Sunday, January 31st to Keuka Park, New York to face-off against the Keuka College Storm (8-5). Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
