In Saturday´s matchup Penn State Harrisburg grabbed the quick lead with a three pointer off the hands of freshman guard, Amaris Gardner (Bayside/Virginia Beach, VA). Although the Lady Lions had a speedy start, the Storm showed why they were 13-3 against NEAC opponents last year going on a 13-2 run in the span of 6:52 minutes. Feeling the pressure of going down big before halftime, Gardner and freshman guard Elizabeth Bard (Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown, PA) led the Lions on a 9-2 run to end the half.

Any hopes of a second half comeback from Penn State Harrisburg were hindered by Keuka´s hot shooting (51.7 percent) and nine blue and white turnovers. The Lady Lions hit just 7-of-30 attempts from the floor with 1-of-9 coming behind the arc while Keuka used a 23-4 run midway through the half to increase its lead to 27 with 7:21 remaining. Bard led the team with 13 points, three steals and two rebounds while senior Sandra Adames (Pontiac Northern/Pontiac, MI) chipped in with 11 points and grabbed a season low seven rebounds.

The Storm were led by Jessica Fink who had 17 points, 15 of which came from beyond the arc. Angela Viggiani tallied 13 points and nine rebounds. Courtney Lincoln served as the Storms play maker with 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. Melissa Thurston had a break out game as well with nine points, eight rebounds and seven steals. The blue and white were outrebound 51-27 by the much taller Keuka Storm.

In Sunday´s match up the Lady Lions looked to bounce back yet again against the SUNY-IT Wildcats. The Wildcats leaped out to the quick lead over the blue and white scoring the first eight points of the game in just under three minutes. Throughout the first half both teams were trading points, with the Wildcats increasing their lead to as much as eleven, but then losing it quickly with a 16-4 run by the Lady Lions. Jump shot from sophomore Erin Davis (Cranston West/Cranston, RI) put Penn State Harrisburg up by three with just 3:22 remaining in the first half. Before halftime the Lions turned cold and shot 0-for-5 from the field to close out the half with SUNY-IT taking back the lead 32-29.

The second half turned ugly for the Lady Lions with visiting Wildcats going on a 13-6 run in the first five minutes of the half. The blue and white brought the game within one with 6:19 remaining before the Wildcats went on another 8-0 run to seal the Lady Lions fate.

The blue and white managed to put three Lady Lions in double figures led by Adames with 18 points, 19 rebounds and three blocks. Bard chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds. Senior Krystal Miranda (Bound Brook/ S. Bound Brook, NJ) tallied 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Even though the blue and white outrebound the Wildcats 59-42, their poor shooting from the field ended up closing the deal for SUNY-IT.

The Wildcats were led by Taylor Topping with 16 points off of 7-of-14 shooting from the field. Tamara Williams put in 11 points, grabbed thirteen rebounds and had four blocks in the Wildcat victory. Tiffany Holthouse chipped in 10 points, fifteen rebounds and three assists. The Wildcats fourth player in double figures was Caitlin Cottell with 11 points.

The Lady Lions will travel to Valley Forge Christian College on Wednesday. Tip off time is scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
