Pair of Penn State Harrisburg Lions Recognized for Second Week in a Row

GANSEVOORT, NY — The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week ending Sunday, January 27, 2008 in the sports of men's and women's basketball.

Seth Lewis (Grantville, PA/Lower Dauphin) was selected as the NEAC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Lewis, a 6'2" sophomore guard for the Penn State Harrisburg, was selected for his outstanding offensive and defensive performance for the week leading his team to a 1-1 week in conference play. Lewis finished the week with 54 points (27/game), 18 rebounds (9/game), 6 assists, 4 steals, 1 block, 14-for-19 from the free throw line (.777 from the line), and a .514 shooting percentage. In the first game this week, Lewis went 10-15 from the field and 7-8 from the foul line en route to a game high 28 points and then, in the second game, recorded a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Lewis receives this award for the second time this season.

Sandra Adames Sandra Adames (Pontiac, MI/Pontiac Northern) was selected as the NEAC Women's Basketball Co-Student-Athlete of the Week. Adames, a 5'11" junior center for the Penn State Harrisburg, was selected for her strong offensive and defensive performance for the week. Adames finished the week with 48 points (24/game), 40 rebounds (20/game), 10 blocks (5/game), 1 assist, 1 steal, 14-for-17 from the free throw line (.824 from the line), and a .378 shooting percentage. In the first game, Adames was 2 blocks short of a triple-double versus Philadelphia Biblical University with 19 points, 18 rebounds, and 8 blocks, then followed that performance with 29 points and 22 rebounds to finish the week. Adames receives this award for the third time this season.
