Middletown, PA — The Lady Lions of Penn State Harrisburg dropped a tough game Thursday night at home against the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles. The Crimson Eagles forced 32 turnovers and got 24 points from Summer Mullen winning 79-38, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game. The loss drops the Lady Lions to 2-13 overall and 1-7 in the NEAC. The Crimson Eagles improve to 7-7 overall and 3-5 in the NEAC. Early on Penn State Harrisburg's stifling defense was causing the Eagles problems and the only trailed 12-8 after the 7:30 minute mark. Following a Sandra Adames (Pontiac Northern/Pontiac, MI) put back to make it 12-8 Philadelphia Biblical went on a 22-5 run in the next ten minutes to storm out to a 34-13 lead. Penn State Harrisburg closed out the half outscoring the Crimson Eagles 6-2 with two lay-ups from Erin Davis (Cranston West/Cranston RI), making the halftime score 36-19.

Philadelphia Biblical was helped by 16 first half turnovers, scoring 14 points off of them. Philadelphia Biblical also was helped by their strong defense, holding the Lady Lions to 24.2 % from the field. Mullins led the Crimson Eagles in the first half with 18 points, while Penn State Harrisburg was lead by Adames 6 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 blocks.

After climbing to within 15 early in the second half and forcing a turnover the Lady Lions were outscored 31-15 to end the game. Philadelphia Biblical shot 51.4% in the second half, while holding Penn State Harrisburg to only 22.6% shooting. Despite Adames 13 second half points, Philadelphia Biblical's balanced offensive attack was too much to overcome.

Adames led the Lady Lions with 19 points, 18 rebounds, and 8 blocks, while Jamie Bissot (Pocono Mt. East/Swiftwater, PA) chipped in with 13 point and 6 rebounds. The Eagles were led by Mullins 24 points. Sarah Oessenrich had a very balanced game as well with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists.

The Lady Lions return to action at Cazenovia on Sunday January 27th at noon.
