Storm Too Much For Lady Lions

February 3, 2008

Middletown, PA — A balanced Keuka College attack proved to be too much for the Lady Lions of Penn State Harrisburg in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game Sunday afternoon at the Capital Union Building. Penn State Harrisburg is now 2-16 overall, 1-10 in the NEAC. Keuka College, who had four ladies in double figures scoring and shot 59% from the field, are now 10-6 overall and 9-1 in the NEAC.

Keuka College started the game out impressively building a 23-1 lead midway through the first half. Despite being down, Penn State Harrisburg fought hard against a very tough Keuka College team only being outscored 17 to 11 after the early deficit for most of the remainder of the first half. Keuka did score the final four points of the half. Abby Brewer, for the Storm, was the only lady in double figures scoring in the first half for either team with 10 points. Sandra Adames (Pontiac, MI/Pontiac Northern) and Krystal Miranda (South Bound Brook, NJ/Bound Brook) both had 4 points for the Lady Lions.

Like their last home game against Cazenovia the Blue and White never game up and played a much stronger second half against the Storm of Keuka College. Through the first eight minutes of the second half the Lady Lions played Keuka College practically even. Their effort was definitely seen on the defensive side of the ball in the second half holding the Storm of Keuka to just 35 points while forcing eight turnovers. Penn State Harrisburg forced a total of nineteen turnovers for the entire game.

Miranda led the Lady Lions in scoring with 13 points while Adames had a good game across the board with 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Heather Fish led Keuka College with 14 points. Also for the Storm, Nadia Madmoune had 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Penn State Harrisburg's next home is Tuesday at Philadelphia Biblical University at 6 pm.
