LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to their strong performances in victories over the weekend, Penn State Harrisburg's Caleb Fockens and Samantha Bogush were recently named the United East Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

Fockens picked up where he left off in the fall in Penn State Harrisburg's first match of the spring campaign on Sunday afternoon. The freshman rolled to a pair of victories in an 8-1 win over York (Pa.). The Cambridge, Maine native teamed with Sachin Venkatesh to earn an 8-1 victory in the top doubles matchup before cruising to a 6-0, 4-0 (retired) win in the No. 1 singles contest. 

Bogush's efforts in the spring season-opening match against York (Pa.) helped the Lions secure their first-ever win over their former conference rivals on Sunday, as the Blue & White edged the Spartans 5-4. The freshman teamed with Isabella Pizzelanti to earn a hard-fought 8-6 win in the No. 2 doubles contest before coming away with a 6-4, 6-3 win in the No. 2 singles matchup later in the day.

The Lions are set to return to action when they host Division II Kutztown at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
