Blue and White Wins NAC West Division Championship

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - On Thursday and Friday, April 28-29th, the Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis team made history by winning it first NAC West Division Championship.  The Nittany Lions captured the crown by easily defeating SUNY Cobleskill 5-0 in the semifinals before shutting out Penn State Berks in the Championship match 5-0.

During the individual portion of the tournament Penn State Harrisburg won seven of nine flights, landing John Dixon (Lemoyne, PA/Cedar Cliff), Ali Eteiba (Cairo, Egypt/Modern Education American School), Tyler Bixler (Camp Hill, PA/Cumberland Valley), Evgeny Matigullin (New Bloomfield, PA/Susquenita) on the NAC West All-Conference first team, while Nate Tulchinsky (Hershey, PA/ Hershey) earned second team honors.  In the doubles play the teams of Eteiba/Dixon and Tulchinsky/Cartmill earned first team all-conference, while the team of Bixler and Vincent Lepore III (Chepachet, RI/Ponaganset) earned seconded team honors.  Penn State Harrisburg's John Dixon, also took home the Player of the Year honors. 

Penn State Harrisburg's men's tennis program will face Castleton State College in the NAC Championship Event at the Tri City Tennis Club in Latham, NY.

Beginning with the 2010 season, North Eastern Athletic Confernence (NEAC) members Keuka, Penn State Abington, Penn State Berks, Penn State Harrisburg and SUNY Cobleskill began play as associate members of the North Atlantic Conference in a West Division.  Each division holds a championship and the two divisional champions will meet to determine the conference champion.
