Men's Soccer Debuts In NCAA Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team has debuted in the NCAA's Division III Regional Rankings. 

 

Fresh off winning the program's third straight United East Championship over the weekend, the Lions (10-2-7) debuted at No. 6 in the NCAA's Region IV rankings. The team is currently riding a 13-game unbeaten streak dating back to Sept. 17.

 

Stevens holds the top spot in the region, while Rowan earned the runner-up position. New York University (NYU) ranks third, Montclair State sits fourth in the region, and Lycoming rounds out the top five.

 

As a team, Penn State Harrisburg currently ranks top-20 in the nation in a number of statistical categories, including scoring offense (3.32), shot accuracy (.582), points per game (9.00), total goals (63), total points (171), goal differential (41), shots on goal per game (9.11), total assists (45), and assists per game (2.37). 

 

The three-time defending conference champions will travel to the campus of No. 18 Mary Washington and take on Ohio Wesleyan in the team's NCAA Tournament First Round contest at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 12.
