INDIANAPOLIS – For the third consecutive season, Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team will compete in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, as revealed by the tournament selection committee on Monday afternoon, Nov. 7.
The Lions (10-2-7) won their third straight United East Championship on Saturday night to clinch the conference's automatic qualifier. Penn State Harrisburg will travel to the campus of Mary Washington and take on Ohio Wesleyan (10-4-4) in the team's first round contest at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 12. The Lions are joined in the pod in Fredericksburg, Va. by the host and No. 18 Eagles (10-4-3) and Marymount (Va.) (12-6-1). The winners of Saturday's matchups will meet in second round action on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Second round winners will advance to the sectional round set for Nov. 18-20. Winners of each sectional will advance to the national semifinals, which take place at Roanoke's Kerr Stadium in Salem, Va. on Dec. 1. The national championship game will also be played at Kerr Stadium on Dec. 3.
