ALFRED, N.Y. - A slow start doomed Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team in its first loss of the season; a 4-2 setback against Medaille on the opening night of the Bryan Karl Tournament hosted by Alfred on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The Lions (1-1-2) surrendered four first-half goals and were forced to try to play catch up the rest of the way. Kobe Harris and Daniel Fombu provided the scoring for Penn State Harrisburg, with each player netting a marker. Luke Myers also tallied a point by assisting on Fombu's goal.

Medaille (2-0-1) wasted little time getting into the scoring act, converting the game's first marker in the fourth minute. The Mavericks tacked on another goal 10 minutes later before Harris cut the deficit in half with a tally in the 24th minute.

The Mavericks answered back quickly, however, finding the back of the net for the third time less than two minutes later. Medaille pushed the advantage to three with less than 10 minutes to play in the opening half and took a 4-1 lead into the break.

Penn State Harrisburg got off 10 shots in the second half but only Fombu's attempt in the 78th minute off a feed from Myers found twine.

NOTABLES

- Medaille outshot the Lions 20-15 overall and 12-8 in shots on frame.
