Aman, Guglielmetti Sweep United East Weekly Awards

LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to their stellar efforts in a thrilling win on Saturday, Penn State Harrisburg's Joey Aman and Nicholas Guglielmetti have swept the United East Men's Soccer Weekly Awards. Aman was named the conference's offensive player of the week, while Guglielmetti earned defensive player of the week honors.

The No. 24 Lions shut out previously-unbeaten No. 2 Messiah 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 30. Aman headed home the game-winning marker off a beautiful pass from Sebastian Krysztofowicz in the 29th minute to increase his team-leading goals total to 12 on the season. His most-recent accolade is the second offensive player of the week award of the fall.

Guglielmetti turned in one of his strongest efforts of the year, making a season-high six saves against a Messiah squad averaging more than three and a half goals per game entering Saturday's contest. His performance sealed the team's ninth shutout of the year.

With the regular season behind them, the Lions will turn their attention to this weekend's United East Championship Tournament. Penn State Harrisburg, the top seed, will host the two-day tournament beginning on Friday night, Nov. 5. The Blue & White take on Penn State Abington in the opening contest at 5 p.m.
