M. Soccer Set to Host United East Championship Tournament

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The No. 20 Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer team secured the 2021 United East Men's Soccer Regular Season Championship after finishing the regular season unbeaten and untied in conference play. In addition to clinching the program's second consecutive regular season title, the Lions also earned the right to host the upcoming United East Men's Soccer Championship Tournament.

Penn State Harrisburg (13-1-1, 8-0 United East) is currently in the midst of the most successful season in program history. The Lions are nationally-ranked for the first time ever after picking up thrilling victories over previously-unbeaten No. 2 Messiah and No. 3 St. Mary's (Md.) earlier this fall. The program currently leads the country in assists per game (4.07) and ranks top-five nationally in points per game (11.53), scoring offense (3.73), shots on goal per game (11.6), and total assists (61).

Thanks to their success during the regular season, the Blue & White claimed the tournament's top seed. Now, the road to the United East Championship will run through Middletown for the second season in a row. Penn State Harrisburg will be joined by No. 2 St. Mary's (Md.), No. 3 Lancaster Bible, and No. 4 Penn State Abington as teams competing for the conference title.

The action gets underway when the hometown Lions host Penn State Abington at the college's turf field on Friday night, Nov. 5. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. At approximately 7:30 p.m., St. Mary's (Md.) will face Lancaster Bible for the right to advance to Saturday night's conference championship game.

The winners of Friday's semifinal matchups will meet for the United East Championship at 6 p.m. on Saturday night, Nov. 6. The conference champion earns an automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship.

Admission to all games is free to all fans. On game day, fans can park in the lots near the athletic fields free of charge. Fans should be prepared to walk to the turf field facility from various lots across campus.

All fans, student-athletes, coaches, and staff visiting Penn State Harrisburg for any reason are required to be masked when using indoor facilities such as restrooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities. This includes outdoor sports that may be using indoor facilities prior to, during, and after competition. Fans and/or teams not adhering to campus masking policies will be prohibited from entering Penn State Harrisburg facilities and will be reported to the conference office.
