No. 25 Men's Soccer Finishes Undefeated In Conference Play

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team defeated Penn State Berks 3-1 on Saturday night, Oct. 23 to finish undefeated and untied in United East play this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

No. 25 Penn State Harrisburg (12-1-1, 8-0 United East) capped off the conference portion of its 2021 schedule by topping Penn State Berks (3-12, 3-4 United East) on Saturday night to finish with a perfect record in United East play.

Following a scoreless first half, the home team came to life after the break and netted a trio of goals in a span of less than five minutes to break the game open. Michael Albers got the scoring started when he headed home a free kick from Jose Palomeque following a Penn State Berks foul in the 55th minute.

Palomeque took advantage of another foul by the visitors and doubled the Penn State Harrisburg lead less than two minutes later with another beautiful free kick that made it 2-0 with 32:38 left to play. Jared Brewer added an insurance goal off assists from Michael Albers and Zach Ullum on a corner kick in the 60th minute.

The visitors converted a score on a free kick in the 70th minute but the late surge proved far too little too late.
