Men's Soccer Rolls Gallaudet

Men's Soccer Rolls Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team rolled to a 7-1 victory over United East foe Gallaudet on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 16. Daniel Fombu led the way with a pair of markers in the win, while Jose Palomeque, Daryl Lucas, and Justin Elnahrawy each tallied a goal and an assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lions (10-1-1, 6-0 United East) left no doubt in a one-sided conference victory at Gallaudet (2-8, 1-5 United East) on Saturday afternoon. The visitors outshot the Bison by 40 attempts and surrendered just one shot on goal, while six different Penn State Harrisburg players found the back of the net.

Gallaudet looked as if it might play the role of spoiler in the early going when Brian Espanto netted the game's first marker in the 11th minute. Despite being outshot, the home team was able to keep the Blue & White off the board for 30 minutes but once the Lions got on the board for the first time, the floodgates opened.

Fombu tallied his first goal of the day off an Elnahrawy assist in the 30th minute and Daryl Lucas doubled the advantage off a Shammah Gahomera helper little just 68 seconds later. Before the half was through, Fombu found twine again, this time off touches from Ben Stuckert and Lucas, to push the lead to three with 1:15 to go before the break.

The Blue & White continued to roll after halftime. Tyler Madairy connected with Palomeque for a one-timer in the 47th minute before Palomeque assisted on a Zach Ullum score 10 minutes later. Joey Aman's stellar run continued, as he converted a breakaway goal in the 68th minute and Elnahrawy put an exclamation point on the game's scoring thanks to a strike with 5:25 left to play.
