Big Second Half Pushes Men's Soccer Past Morrisville State

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team turned it on in the second half to pull away from United East foe Morrisville State in a 4-0 shutout victory on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Morrisville State (4-7-1, 1-4-1) kept things close in the early going but the Lions (7-1, 4-0 United East) proved too much after the break, netting three of the team's four scores in the second half en route to their fifth shutout win of the season.

The Blue & White wasted little time getting on the board, as Sebastian Krysztofowicz gathered a precise pass from Jose Palomeque and fired a shot past MSU goalkeeper Cody Welkley just seven minutes into the contest.

Welkley kept the visitors within striking distance with a couple of timely saves as the first half wore on but Penn State Harrisburg broke through and never looked back just minutes after play resumed following halftime. A couple of pretty touches from Joey Aman and Zach Ullum resulted in a Daniel Fombu goal just 1:49 into the second half and Palomeque did the rest.

The senior buried his first goal of the afternoon off a feed from Tyler Madairy in the 61st minute before capping the game's scoring by finding twine for the second time off an assist from Zach Ullum less than five minutes later.
