Men's Soccer Trio Earns All-ECAC Honors

DANBURY, Conn. – Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer players Shammah Gahomera, Joey Aman and Nicholas Guglielmetti have earned All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) recognition.

Gahomera was named to the All-ECAC First Team, while Aman and Gugliemetti picked up All-ECAC Second-Team honors.

Gahomera became the first player in program history to earn all-region accolades of any kind when he was named a United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third-Team selection earlier this month. The junior was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection after anchoring a defensive unit that recorded 12 shutouts this fall. Behind the Westbrook, Maine native's strong play, the Lions posted an impressive 0.88 goals-allowed average and surrendered just 18 markers this season. Despite his role as an outside back, he also ranked seventh in the league with his team-leading five assists and added a pair of goals to tally 11 total points on the year. He also earned NEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors in October.

Aman most-recent accolade comes after earning NEAC First-Team All-Conference honors last month and one year after being named to the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) All-Conference Second Team in 2018. He proved one of the conference's top offensive players this fall, as the junior racked up 12 goals and 27 total points; both numbers are good enough to rank him third among league players. His five game winners were tops among NEAC players and he added a pair of assists. The Annapolis, Md. native was named the NEAC Championship Tournament Co-MVP and was twice tabbed the NEAC Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season (9/30, 10/14).

Guglielmetti turned in an outstanding junior campaign that saw him earn a share of the NCAA Division III Statistical Championship in the category of shutouts (12). The goalkeeper was named a NEAC First-Team All-Conference selection after leading the league with a 0.75 goals-against average. He racked up 15 wins, made 40 saves and surrendered just 16 goals this season. The Rochester, Mich. native twice earned NEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors earlier this fall (9/30, 10/28).
