KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer player Shammah Gahomera has earned United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Region recognition, as announced by the organization earlier this week.
Gahomera was named a USC Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third-Team selection. He is the first player in program history to earn all-region accolades of any kind.
The junior was named the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection after anchoring a defensive unit that recorded 12 shutouts this fall. Behind the Westbrook, Maine native's strong play, the Lions posted an impressive 0.88 goals-allowed average and surrendered just 18 markers this season. Despite his role as an outside back, he also ranked seventh in the league with his team-leading five assists and added a pair of goals to tally 11 total points on the year. He also earned NEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors in October.
