Men's Soccer Heading to No. 4 F&M For NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time in program history, Penn State Harrisburg will compete in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship Tournament, as revealed by the tournament selection committee on Monday afternoon, Nov. 11.

 

The Lions (15-5-1) won their first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship on Sunday afternoon to clinch the league's automatic qualifier. Penn State Harrisburg will travel to Franklin & Marshall to take on the No. 4 Diplomats at Tylus Field in the team's first-round contest at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 16. The Blue & White are joined in the region at F&M by Montclair State (16-4-1) and Hobart (14-4-2). The winners of Saturday's matchups will meet in second-round action on Sunday afternoon.

 

 

All tournament games leading up to the national semifinals will be played on the campuses of the competing institutions. Sixteen sites will host four teams for first-and second round competition, with second-round winners advancing to one of four sectional sites for games in two weeks. Winners of the four sectionals will advance to the national semifinals, which take place Dec. 6 at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, N.C., with UNC Greensboro and Greensboro Sports Commission serving as hosts. The national championship game will be played on Dec. 7.
