Men's Soccer Set to Host 2019 NEAC Tournament

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg clinched the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Soccer Regular Season Championship thanks to a 1-0 victory on Friday afternoon, Nov. 1. In addition to securing the program's first-ever regular season title as a member of the NEAC, the Lions also earned the right to host the conference's upcoming postseason tournament.

 

The Blue & White (14-5, 10-1 NEAC) claimed the tourney's top seed and secured a first-round bye. Now, the road to the NEAC Championship will run through Nittany Soccer Field. Penn State Harrisburg will be joined by No 2. Penn State Abington (10-6, 8-3 NEAC) as teams to receive a bye. No. 3 SUNY Poly (12-6, 8-3 NEAC), No. 4 SUNY Cobleskill (9-5-4, 7-2-2 NEAC), No. 5 Lancaster Bible (13-4-2, 7-2-2) and No. 6 Keuka (7-9-1, 6-5 NEAC) join the Blue & White as conference playoff teams.

 

First-round action will see SUNY Poly host Keuka and SUNY Cobleskill host Lancaster Bible on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 5. The final four will then compete at Nittany Soccer Field on the weekend. Penn State Harrisburg will take on the winner of the Cobleskill/LBC matchup at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, with Abington getting the winner of the Poly/Keuka contest at 2 p.m. later that day.

 

The winners of Saturday's semifinal matchups will meet for the NEAC Championship at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 10. The conference champion earns an automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship.

 

Admission to all games is free to all fans. Barring hazardous weather, all three of the weekend's games will be live streamed at athletics.hbg.psu.edu. Fans can also follow the action via live stats.
