Gahomera Named NEAC Defensive Player of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – Penn State Harrisburg's Shammah Gahomera has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Gahomera was instrumental in helping lead the Lions (12-4, 8-0 NEAC) to a 1-0 overtime victory over league foe Keuka on Saturday afternoon. The junior helped hold the Wolves to just one shot on goal and four total attempts in 99-plus minutes of action. The Westbrook, Maine native also assisted on Joey Aman's game-winning goal with less than a minute to play in the extra session. His five helpers on the season are good enough to rank him tied for third among NEAC players.

He joins teammates in Aman, Jared Brewer, Nicholas Guglielmetti and Luke Myers to earn the conference's weekly award this season.

The Blue & White return to action when they travel to Wells for another NEAC tilt on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26.
