How It Happened
Penn State Harrisburg stifled the second-highest scoring offense in the nation and clinched a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) playoff berth thanks to a 5-0 shutout victory at Cazenovia on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13.
The Lions (11-4, 7-0 NEAC) exerted their will on the offensive end of the field and tallied the team's highest goal total of the season in the win. They were just as strong as defense, holding the Wildcats (4-6-2, 1-5-1 NEAC) to just three total shots on the day.
The Blue & White got on the board in the 26th minute when Toma Nichik netted his first goal of the game. The visitors' slim advantage held up heading into halftime.
Following the break, Penn State Harrisburg's attack erupted to the tune of four markers in a span of less than 20 minutes. Joey Aman converted a free kick of 20-plus yards in the 48th minute and Bobby Kirsch pushed the advantage to 3-0 less than four minutes later thanks to a helper from Aman.
The fourth goal of the game again came courtesy of Aman, this time off an assist from Mason Jones in the 66th minute, and Nichik capped the day's scoring with his second of the afternoon off another Jones helper little more than a minute later.

4.20 – Cazenovia's goals-per-game average entering the weekend. The Blue & White held one of the nation's top scoring offenses scoreless on Sunday afternoon.
