How It Happened

Behind the game winner from Mohamed Kotby in the 101st minute, Penn State Harrisburg earned a 1-0 double overtime road victory over Gwynedd Mercy in the team's final non-conference outing of the season on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 2.

The Lions (8-4) found themselves involved in their second overtime contest in as many days after neither squad was able to find the back of the net during the game's first 90 minutes. Despite outshooting the Griffins (3-8-1) 16-to-3 in regulation, the Blue & White were unable to grab the lead.

That all changed with the visitors' first and only shot of the second extra session when Kotby put his attempt past GMU goalkeeper Tyler Blair with 8:09 left on the clock, ending the game and sending the Penn State Harrisburg bench into a frenzy.
