Middletown, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg Office of Intercollegiate Athletics is pleased to announce Daniel J. Krzyzanowicz as the new head men's soccer coach. Coach "K" as he is commonly referred to by his coaching peers and players has 19 seasons of collegiate coaching experience. This includes 13 seasons as a men's head coach, five seasons as a women's head coach and one as a men's assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level. Coach Krzyzanowicz also has coached professionally with Hersey native and reigning USL Coach of the Year Bob Lilley as the top assistant on the Rochester Rhinos staff in 2014.
Coach Krzyzanowicz is excited about his move to Penn State Harrisburg, "I am truly humbled and honored to be selected the first full time coach in program history. Being a part of the Penn State family and its large network is something I could just not say no to. Rahsaan and his staff have an excellent vision and lofty goals for the program and ones that coincide nicely with my vision and goals. I truly feel blessed to be working for such an excellent academic institution whose degrees are known and respected nationally!"
"We are very excited to welcome Coach K to the Penn State Harrisburg family. His passion for the game of soccer is infectious and he has established an excellent track record for developing highly competitive teams as well as very successful student athletes who achieve great success on and off the field of competition". Director of Athletics, Rahsaan Carlton.
Coach Krzyzanowicz, is taking over the men's program that has had some large swings the past two seasons. In 2014, the men finished second in the regular season, hosted the conference final, and finished as the runner up in the ECAC regional tournament. With more than a few injuries last season, the Lions were not able to match the success that was achieved in 2014, but will now look to get back to their winning ways in 2016 under the direction and leadership of Coach Krzyzanowicz.
