Seven Men Earn All-Conference Status

GANESVOORT, NY – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) concluded the men's soccer season where the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats captured the regular season title with an 8-1-0 conference record. The NEAC is proud to announce the regular season award winners and the all-conference selections. The NEAC consists of ten men's soccer programs and will honor thirty-three men on the three all-conference teams as well as three individual award winners.

The Penn State Harrisburg Nittany Lions took seven spots on the three all-conference teams. Senior forward Danny Francis (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and sophomore defender Brendan Garner (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) earned spots on the First Team All-Conference list. Receiving Second Team All-Conference acknowledgement is Ian Lake (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff) and Caleb Hoppes (Harrisburg, PA/Middletown).

Freshman goalie Josh Wolff (Christiana, PA/Octorana), sophomore midfielder Dillon Sobilo (Eureka, CA/Arcata High) and freshman midfielder Justin Henderson (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill) all earned Third Team All-Conference recognition.  

SUNYIT's #23 Diego Montaleza, a freshman midfielder, was selected as NEAC Player of the Year. Montaleza (New York, NY) finished the regular season playing 16 games (8 NEAC) with 63 shots on goal (18 during NEAC play), 5 goals (4 NEAC), 8 assists (7 NEAC), and 18 points (15 NEAC). His teammate and also a freshman,#1 Malick Faye (Bronx, NY) was selected as NEAC Goal Keeper of the Year finishing the regular season playing 16 games (9 NEAC), 43 saves (9 NEAC), 12 goals against (6 NEAC), 0.81 goal against average (0.63 NEAC), and 6 shutouts (3 NEAC). SUNYIT's coach, Peterson Jerome was honored by his peers as NEAC Coach of the Year leading the Wildcats to12-5 overall record with an 8-1-0 record in conference play.
