HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. – Led by United East Rookie of the Year Gavin Fegley and two all-conference honorees in Ian Martin and Matthew Redman, Penn State Harrisburg's men's golf team earned a runner-up finish at the 2024 United East Championships, held at Philmont Country Club over the weekend.

As a team, the Lions finished +42 with a two-day score of 633; an effort strong enough to earn second place of the nine competing programs. Penn College repeated as the conference's champion, carding a +40 as a unit.

Individually, Fegley shot a two-day +14 (154) and finished as the tournament runner-up, just five strokes off the mark of overall winner and conference champion Peyton Mussina from Penn College. Thanks to his efforts, Fegley earned a spot on the United East All-Conference First Team and was named the conference's rookie of the year. He is just the fifth golfer in program history to earn the major award and the first in nine years to secure the distinction.

Ian Martin and Matthew Redman wrapped up their careers in style, with both seniors earning top-10 finishes. Martin finished +19 with a two-day total of 159 to finish in a tie for sixth, while Redman carded a +20, 160 to earn a share of eighth overall. Both players secured United East All-Conference Second Team recognition in the process.

Jacob Lotz also had a strong outing, completing his rookie campaign with a two-day 160 (+20) that was strong enough to earn him a share of eighth place, while Isaiah Day rounded out the Penn State Harrisburg contingency in a tie for 30th with a weekend total of 176.
