PSH Golf Team Earns First NCAA Berth in School History

Middletown, PA- On Wednesday, April 27, the men's golf team made Penn State Harrisburg history by earning the first NCAA berth in school history. The berth was earned as the Nittany Lions captured the NEAC conference championship with a total team score of 612. Head coach Brad Kane was named NEAC Coach of the Year and senior Brad Goss(AnnvillePA/Palmyraearned NEAC Player of the Year and 1st Team All-Conference accolades.

Goss shot a two-round total of 148 including a second round 72 which ties the Penn State Harrisburg school record. Shane Woodman(MariettaPA/Donegal) and Max Hrip(MechanicsburgPA/CumberlandValley) each recorded 154, Geoff Morrison (Harrisburg,PA/Bishop McDevitt) shot a 157 and Ryan Foell(PottstownPA/Boyertown) shot a 164.

Woodman and Hrip were named 1st team All-Conference and Morrision was honored with 2nd team all-conference.

The Nittany Lions will travel to North Carolina for the NCAA Division III Championship beginning on May 7, 2011.
