Penn State Harrisburg men's golf head coach Malcolm Jackson, the reigning United East Coach of the Year, begins his fifth season at the helm of the program in 2022-23.

Most recently, Jackson was named the United East Coach of the Year after guiding all five of his team’s competitors to all-conference recognition and leading his group to a runner-up finish at the 2022 United East Championships. During the regular season, the Lions captured team titles at the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Invitational and the Penn State Division III Challenge. Under Jackson’s guidance, Josh Africa matched the best single-round score in program history (70) at the season-opening Dickinson Invitational, while Tiger Xu matched the second-lowest score in program history (71) on day two of the Golden Oaks Shootout hosted by Arcadia. Matthew Redman ended the season on a high note when he earned a share of the runner-up position at the two-day United East Championship event.

During his first stint with Penn State Harrisburg from 2016 to 2018, Jackson spent two-plus years as head coach of both the men's golf team and the now-retired women's golf program. Under his guidance, four men's golfers earned Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) All-Conference recognition and four of the top seven scores in program history were achieved under his watch. On the women's side, former standout Allison Cooper secured an NCAA Division III national ranking after winning three individual invitational championships under his tutelage in 2017.

Prior to his time at Penn State Harrisburg, Jackson was the head coach at nearby Elizabethtown, his alma mater, for three seasons after serving as an assistant coach the previous two years. While with the Blue Jays, he helped develop a program that eventually produced a PING Pre-Tournament All-American in Charlie Haines.

Jackson's collegiate career included receiving a full scholarship offer from NCAA Division I-AA program South Carolina State and he's had the opportunity to staff PGA Tour event and return to local amateur competition in the years since. Outside of golf, he serves as a Franchise Business Consultant and is a partner in several private corporations focused on improving daily living.

Jackson graduated from Elizabethtown with a degree in Business Administration. He currently resides in Harrisburg, Pa. with his wife and two daughters.
