WASHINGTON, D.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team opened a busy weekend with a 3-0 setback at United East foe Gallaudet on Friday night, Oct. 20. The Lions fell by set scores of 25-13, 25-17, and 25-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The hometown Bison (24-3, 4-0 United East) jumped out to a 7-2 advantage in the opening set and rode that momentum to a victory before the Lions (8-11, 1-2 United East) opened the second set with a 6-1 run that included a couple of service aces from Katie Richardson and kills by Emmaline Stevens and Camryn Wettstone

Penn State Harrisburg held a 7-2 lead early in the set but Gallaudet put together a 9-2 run to get back into it and eventually pulled ahead 11-10 midway through the game. The visitors reclaimed the advantage at 14-13 but the Bison finished strong thanks to a 12-3 spurt that halted the Lions' momentum and gave the home team a second set win.

Gallaudet continued that momentum into the third and final set, racing out to a 10-3 lead before going on a match-sealing 12-2 run to effectively close things out.

NOTABLES

- Hannah DeGregory recorded a team-high seven kills. Stevens and Wettstone added five each.

- Stevens racked up a team-best 14 digs, while Julia Choe added a dozen of her own.
