MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's volleyball team split a tri-match with York (Pa.) and Shenandoah at the Capital Union Building on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 10.

The Lions (3-3) fell to the Spartans in the opener (25-15, 25-23, 21-25, 25-20) before bouncing back with a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over SU (25-17, 22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12) in the final match of the day. Anna Ruff had two great outings, racking up 25 kills across both matches. Olivia Koicuba was stout on defense, posting 42 digs, while Alyssa Snyder finished with 59 assists in two outings.

The first contest saw York (Pa.) take set one and hold on for a second-set victory by the slimmest of margins. Penn State Harrisburg stayed alive by taking the third set but the visitors secured the match with a narrow fourth-set win.

The second match started as well as can be, with the Lions handily winning the first set. The Hornets responded, however, erasing deficits in both the second and third sets to take a one-set advantage into the fourth. Penn State Harrisburg held off a late SU charge in the fourth and captured a slim victory before clinching the heart stopping win in a back-and-fourth deciding set.
