How It Happened
The Lions got off to a slow start falling behind early in the first set, but the Lions took advantage of several attack errors by the Knights to even the game at nine. The Knights would respond and pull away capturing the first set 25-15.
Kristin Waring and Melanie Sheaffer would get the Lions off to a strong start in the second set each recording a service ace, giving the Lions a four to one advantage. The lead would be traded back and forth with a kill by Sheaffer evening the score at 10. The Knights attack regained the lead and would eventually score four straight points to capture the second set.
The Lions continued to battle in the final set, recovering from five point deficits on three different occasions in the set. Harrisburg's offense would record 12 kills in the set including three from Cheyanna Buckingham and Sheaffer. The Blue & White would tie the third set at 24, but could not complete the rally, falling 26-24.
