MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team extended their winning streak to seven on Sunday afternoon, April 21, as the squad swept Cairn 9-0 in a non-conference matchup.

The Lions (12-6, 5-0 United East) won all three doubles matches to set the stage for their eventual sweep. Allison Wootton and Breanna DeSantis defeated Cairn's Reagan Griffith and Ersy Neal 8-1 in the top outing. The No. 2 duo of Olivia Bandini and Sophia Bandini dominated Abby Horning and Laney Bouton in an 8-0 victory, while Anita Liu and Sarah Shaub rolled to an 8-0 decision over Gabriella Hurst and Tatiana Ipri in the third contest.

It was more of the same in singles action, as no Penn State Harrisburg player needed more than two sets to come away with a victory. Wootton handled Griffith 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 matchup, while O. Bandini earned a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Neal in the second outing. DeSantis went over Horning 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 3 slot and Liu worked for a 6-1, 6-2 win against Bouton in the fourth spot. Dey grabbed a 6-2, 6-0 win versus Hurst in the fifth outing while Shaub put the finishing touches on the sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Ipri in the last singles contest.

Sunday afternoon's match marked Penn State Harrisburg's last regular season contest of the season, however with the Lions' 5-0 undefeated record in the United East Volt Division, they are set to host Penn State Abington on Tuesday, April 23 for the volt semifinal contest. The time of the match will be determined at a later date.
