HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Pfeiffer to begin their week in Hilton Head on Monday morning, March 4. 

 

Allison Wootton and Breanna DeSantis secured the lone doubles victory for the Lions in the No. 1 contest, as they won 8-1. Elsewhere in doubles action, Penn State Harrisburg (2-5) saw Olivia Bandini and Anita Liu topped by Pfeiffer's Riley Isley and Caimbree Gann in the second outing, while Hailey Dey and Sarah Shaub were defeated in the No. 3 matchup. 

 

Bandini secured a 6-1, 6-4 win over Megan Rekieta in the No. 2 singles matchup and Liu fought to earn a three-set victory 6-4, 0-6, 11-9 in the fourth solo outing. Wootton dropped a back-and-forth affair to Haley Ingenito by a 4-6, 7-5, 5-10 line and DeSantis had a similar experience in the No. 3 position, as she was topped by a score of 3-6, 6-1, 8-10. Shaub and Dey both came up short in the fifth and sixth contests to end the day for the Lions. 

 

Penn State Harrisburg returns to action in Hilton Head on Tuesday, March 4, as they are set to compete against Buena Vista at 5 p.m.
