Women's Tennis Falls to Undefeated Lebanon Valley

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to undefeated Lebanon Valley at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on a dreary Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26. 

 

Reigning United East Women's Tennis Player of the Week - Volt Division Allison Wootton secured the team's lone victory when she defeated LVC's Jacquelyn McBride in the No. 1 singles contest. She teamed with Anita Liu in the top doubles matchup but the duo fell short. 

 

Elsewhere in doubles action, Penn State Harrisburg (0-3) saw Hailey Day and Carissa Fallon topped by LVC's Sarah Kramer and Eliana Shenk in the second outing, while Chelsy Funebe and Kayla Bromfield were bested in the No. 3 matchup. 

 

The Flying Dutchmen (4-0) continued their strong play in singles play, as Liu and Dey fell to their LVC counterparts in the top half of the lineup, while Fallon, Funebe, and Emily Zinni also came up short in the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 outings, respectively. 

 

The Lions will look to pick up their first win of the young season when they host Misericordia on Saturday afternoon.
