Women's Tennis Rolls to Win Over Lancaster Bible

LANDISVILLE, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team was strong up and down the lineup in an 8-1 victory over United East foe Lancaster Bible on Friday afternoon, April 21. 

 

The Lions secured wins in all three doubles matches, with Olivia Bandini and Breanna DeSantis rolling to an 8-0 sweep over Sarah Steckbeck and Janie Weist in the top contest, while Gabrielle Sabatose and Sarah Shaub went over Sierra Hartmann and Alycia Eglauer 8-5 in the No. 2 outing. Carissa Fallon and Cassandra Ginder made it a clean sweep with a hard-fought 8-7 win over Camryn Burkholder and Natalie Hoover in the third matchup.

 

Bandini, the reigning United East Player of the Week, carried the momentum into singles play that saw her make quick work of Steckbeck in a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No.1 contest. DeSantis was similarly as impressive, going over Hartmann 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 2 outing. Shaub picked up a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Weist in the third solo matchup, Ginder topped Burkholder 6-0, 6-1 in the fifth match, and Fallon defeated Hoover 6-2, 7-5 in the No. 6 contest.

 

The Lions (6-5, 3-1 United East) will wrap up the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a match at Penn College.
