Women's Tennis Handles Berks in Conference Finale

READING, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg women's tennis team wrapped up regular season conference play with a sweep of Penn State Berks on Saturday afternoon, April 23. 

 

The Lions came away with all three doubles matches, as Sydney Nye and Breanna DeSantis defeated Mary King and Bailey Rocker 8-0 in the No. 1 matchup before Isabella Pizzelanti and Sarah Shaub conquered Madyson Sanzotta and Lauren Christiana 8-0 in the No. 2 contest. Annalisa Petrascu and Cassandra Ginder finished up things with an 8-0 win over Katie Davis and Sam Hagenbush in the last doubles match of the day. 

 

The Blue & White continued to impress in singles action, with Nye leading things off in the top singles contest with a 6-0, 6-0 decision over King and DeSantis defeating Madison Hetrick in the No. 2 matchup 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 3 outing, Pizzelanti rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Aaliss Osidele, while Shaub earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Bailey Rocker in the No. 4 contest. Petrascu earned a win in the No. 5 matchup, besting Sam Hagenbush 6-1, 6-0 and Ginder clinched a 6-0, 6-1 decision against Lauren Christiana in the No. 6 match.

 

Penn State Harrisburg is set to go up against non-conference opponent Messiah on Monday afternoon, April 25. The first serve is at 4:30 p.m.
