Women's Tennis Falls to York (Pa.) In CAC Action

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team got back to Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) play by hosting York (Pa.) at the Hoverter Tennis Complex, falling 7-2 on Thursday afternoon, March 28.

 

The Lions (5-8) came away with a victory in the No. 2 doubles contest to begin the day, with Elysse Mellott and Maria Torre winning an 8-7 battle over Jessica Sherman and Chloe Doyle.

 

Mellott's strong outing carried over into singles action, as she worked hard to capture a 4-6, 7-6, 10-7 victory over Sherman in the No. 3 solo matchup. Soorya Chitibabu was the second Blue & White player to force a third set before falling 6-3, 6-7, 10-4 to Hannah Shinsky in the No. 5 slot.

 

Penn State Harrisburg will return to action when the team travels south to take on CAC foe Salisbury on Sunday morning, March 31.
