Women's Tennis Drops Match to Juniata

Middletown, PA.- The Penn State Harrisburg women's tennis team hosted Juniata on Tuesday April 4th for a non-conference matchup against the Eagles. The Lion's fell 9-0 to the visitors in a difficult match for Harrisburg.

Women's Singles:

On the single's side of the match, three Lady Lion's took their opponents to three sets. Sydney Nye, the number one single's player for Harrisburg, dropped her first set 6-7 before winning the second set 6-0. In the final set, Lucas took home the win with a 10-8 win in the final set. Sarah Shahriar, the number four singles player for Harrisburg, led after her first set 6-4 before falling in the final two 6-1 and 10-6. In the number six match, Sheila Ansary, started her match strong  by eading Devin Ryman 7-6. Ansary lost the next two sets 6-4 and 10-3. 

Women's Doubles:

In the number one doubles match, Sydney Nye and Maria Torre fell to Rachel Yurchisin and Vienna Cordier 8-3. The number two and number three partners also dropped their matches 8-1 to the Eagles. Tian Chang Luo and Sarah Shahriar fell to Lauren Lucas and Savannah Bailey followed by Shevia Ansary and Sarah Ghika.
