How it Happened:

Penn State Harrisburg got off to a strong start led by Laurel Amey. Amey finished a layup and then hit a three-point shot on the next possession to give the Lions an early five-point lead. The Eagles would respond, closing the quarter on a 14-6 run to hold a nine-point lead after the first quarter. Harrisburg would open the second quarter on a 7-0 run powered by a three-point basket by Janel Brown. Both teams would trade baskets with the Eagles holding a four-point advantage at the half.

 

The Lions would tie the game early in the third quarter when Brown found Jordann Wilson on an in bounce pass for an easy layup. Tessa Dolce would hit a pair of free throws later in the quarter to give the Lions a 40-39 advantage. The Eagles would respond hitting a pair of three-pointers to recapture the lead entering the fourth quarter. Amey would hit another three-pointer early in the fourth quarter to pull the Lions within one point. A few possessions Briana Davis would a hit a three-pointer to give the Lions a 50-49 lead. Mary Washington would rally to recapture the lead and hit free throws down the stretch to pick up the win.
