Nittany Lions Fall to Dickinson

Middletown, Pa.- Tuesday November 17, this evening the Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball team hosted Dickinson in a non conference match up. The Nittany Lions came out strong but fell 71-58 to the Red Devils. 

Senior guard Jasmine Yanich (Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Township) started it off strong for Harrisburg with the first three of the game for the home team. Only one minute later, Junior Kaitlyn Carmo (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) came up big with a three to shorten the gap between Harrisburg and Dickinson. At the end of the first quarter the visitors led 21-12. Sophomore Alexis Nolan (Beltsville, Md. / St. Vincent Pallotti) fought hard in the second quarter to rebound her own shot and then come up with a three. At the half, Dickinson led 39-24. Later in the second half, Nolan had another vital three to bring Dickinson's lead to less then 10. Although Dickinson led throughout the game, Harrisburg never gave up and came close several times to tying the game. Carmo led for Harrisburg with 12 points and four rebounds. Close behind was Nolan with 10 points and five rebounds, as well as Yanich with nine points and six rebounds. 

Up next for the women is the Ramapo Tournament hosted by Ramapo College. Penn State Harrisburg will face Ramapo on Friday night at 7:30 pm. The women will play either St. Elizabeth or SUNY Old Westbury on Saturday. The game time will be announced on Friday.
