Snypse Named NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – On Monday, Dec. 10, it was announced that Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball player Lucky Snypse (Philadelphia, Pa. / George Washington Carver of Engineering and Science) had been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference's (NEAC) Student-Athlete of the Week for the time period ending Sunday, Dec. 9.

After playing just nine minutes in the Lions first three games of the season, the freshman had a breakout week and helped the Blue and White pick up three conference victories in six days.

In the team's 77-58 victory over St. Elizabeth on Tuesday, Dec. 4, Snypse shot 54 percent from the field on her way to an eight point outing that also saw her collect six rebounds.

The forward followed it up with her first double-double of her collegiate career.  The Philadelphia native netted ten points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in Harrisburg's dramatic 60-58 win over Lancaster Bible on Thursday, Dec. 6.  Trailing the Chargers by ten points in the second half, the Lions put together a crucial 14-2 run that was capped by back-to-back buckets by Snypse.  The ladies never trailed again.

In Penn State Harrisburg 81-55 thrashing of Penn State Berks on Saturday, Dec. 8, Snypse scored a career-high 15 points and pulled-in seven rebounds in just 22 minutes of playing time.

For the year, Snypse is averaging ten points and 7.5 boards per contest.
