GANSEVOORT, NY - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announces student-athlete of the week selection for week ending Sunday, November 23, 2008 in the sport of women´s basketball. Sandra Adames (Pontiac, MI) was selected as the NEAC Women´s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. Adames, a 5´11" senior center for the Penn State University - Harrisburg Nittany Lions, was selected for her strong offensive performance for the week leading her team to a 3-0 week. Adames finished the week with 62 points (20.7/game), 51 rebound (17.0/game), 13 blocks (4.33/game), 7 steal, 1 assist, 14-for-18 from the free throw line (.778 from the line), and a .500 shooting percentage. Adames led her team to the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East Tip-Off Tournament Championship and earned the tournament MVP trophy for her performance.
