PREVIEW: Men's Hoops To Host NEAC Tourney Final Four

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg clinched the 2019-20 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Basketball Regular Season Championship thanks to a victory in the team's regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 22. In addition to securing the program's second regular season title as a member of the NEAC, the Lions also earned the right to host the conference's upcoming postseason tournament.

 

The Lions (18-7, 14-2 NEAC) claimed the NEAC South Division crown and the tourney's top seed and secured a first-round bye in the process. Now, the road to the NEAC Championship will run through the Capital Union Building this weekend. Penn State Harrisburg is joined by NEAC North Division winner SUNY Poly (16-9, 13-3 NEAC) as teams to receive a bye. NEAC South Division No. 2 Lancaster Bible (12-13, 10-6 NEAC), south division No. 3 Penn College (7-18, 5-11 NEAC), NEAC North Division No. 2 Morrisville State (15-10, 12-4 NEAC) and north division No. 3 Cazenovia (10-15, 8-8 NEAC) join the Blue & White as conference playoff teams.

 

First-round action will see Morrisville State host Cazenovia and Lancaster Bible host Penn College on Tuesday night, Feb. 25. The final four will then compete at the Capital Union Building on the weekend. Penn State Harrisburg will take on the winner of the Morrisville/Cazenovia matchup at 8 p.m. on Friday night, Feb. 28, with SUNY Poly getting the winner of the LBC/Penn College contest at 6 p.m. earlier that evening.

 

The winners of Friday's semifinal matchups will meet for the NEAC Championship at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 29. The conference champion earns an automatic bid to the 2020 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship Tournament.

 

Admission to all games is $3 per person. All Penn State Harrisburg students receive free admission. All three of the tournament's games contested at Penn State Harrisburg will be live streamed at athletics.hbg.psu.edu. Fans can also follow the action via live stats.
