Bandini, DeSantis Shine In Setback Against St. Mary's (Md.)

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's women's tennis team fought hard in a 6-3 setback to the United East leaders from St. Mary's (Md.) at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon, April 18. 

 

Reigning United East Women's Tennis Player of the Week Olivia Bandini and Breanna DeSantis shined against the Seahawks, with each securing singles victories after teaming up for a win in doubles action. 

 

The duo set the tone by sweeping Diana Levit and Hannah Gorel 8-0 in the top doubles matchup. Bandini continued her stellar play in singles action by besting Levit 6-3, 6-4, while DeSantis was strong in a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Gore in the No. 2 solo outing. 

 

The Lions (5-5, 2-1 United East) will return to action when they travel to Lancaster Bible for their penultimate match of the regular season on Friday afternoon.
