Bandini Earns Conference Player of the Week Recognition

LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to her success in a pair of recent matches, Penn State Harrisburg's Sophia Bandini has been named the United East Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

 

Bandini joins her sister, Olivia Bandini, as Penn State Harrisburg players to earn the conference's weekly accolade this fall. 

 

In a match at Lebanon Valley on Thursday, the freshman teamed up with Nizaly Ortiz-Kreiner to secure an 8-3 win in the No. 2 doubles contest before capturing a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory in the No. 4 singles matchup. Against Misericordia on Sunday afternoon, the Dillsburg, Pa. native followed it up with a hard-fought 1-6, 6-2, 10-4 win in the fourth solo slot.
