Cross Country In Action at Dickinson's Long/Short Meet

NEWVILLE, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's cross country teams were in action at Dickinson's Long-Short Invitational at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa. on Saturday morning, Sept. 25.

 

The women's squad earned a 16th-place finish out of 18 competing teams in the long race, with Tatyana Gibson leading the way for the Lions. The freshman finished 34th out of 125 total runners thanks to completing the 6K race in 25:46.5; the second quickest mark in program history.

 

Abagail Marquardt crossed the finish line with a mark of 29:03.7 and secured a 94th-place finish. Jameraquai May, Layla Germain, Starr Williams, and Anna Mahan rounded out the group of Blue & White competitors.

 

The men's team combined for an 11th-place finish out of 21 total competing programs, with Jordan Payne and Paolo Aranoff leading the way in the field of 141 runners. Payne was the team's top finisher in the 8K event, with his time of 29:42.3 earning him a 44th-place finish, while Aranoff, the reigning United East Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, finished 47th thanks to 29:51.1 mark.

 

Logan Cook just missed out on a top-50 finish with a time of 30:25.2. Luke Culver, Zachary Malay, Nic Spohn, and Darryl Osei rounded out the group of Penn State Harrisburg runners.
