Taylor Earns Second Straight CAC Weekly Award

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Thanks to her stellar performance at Kutztown's Mondschein Multi last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Rae Rae Taylor has been named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Taylor was outstanding in the heptathlon at Kutztown on Thursday afternoon, April 12. The sophomore racked up 4,550 total points in the event; a number good enough to top all competing NCAA Division III athletes and rank second among all competing athletes across all NCAA divisions. Her mark currently ranks her seventh in the nation in the HT. The Owen J. Roberts alum posted a runner-up finish in the 200m dash and finished third in the shot put, long jump, javelin throw and 800m run. She also added top-five finishes in the 100m hurdles and high jump events. She was the top finishing D-III athlete in all but two phases of the event.

This marks the third CAC weekly honor this season for Taylor and the sixth for Penn State Harrisburg women's track & field athletes overall.

Taylor and her Blue & White teammates return to action at the Shippensburg Invitational on Wednesday afternoon, April 17.
