Taylor Named CAC Field Athlete of the Week

FREDERICKSBURG, Pa. – Thanks to her impressive performance at Bucknell on Friday night, Penn State Harrisburg's Rae Rae Taylor has been named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Taylor joins teammates Sarah Lehman, Jalil Clayton and Alex White as Penn State Harrisburg student-athletes to earn the conference's weekly award this season.

The sophomore was outstanding in the pentathlon on day one of Bucknell's Bison Open and Multi, winning four of the five events and setting new program records in two of them. The Pottstown, Pa. native racked up 3,353 total points, winning the high jump with a top leap of 1.60 meters, the shot put stage thanks to her best toss of 10.93 meters, the long jump portion with a top bound of 5.28 meters and the 800m run with a mark of 2:34.28. Her high jump and 800m efforts set new standards in the program record book. Taylor's total score is good enough to currently rank her 10th in the nation in the event.

Taylor and her teammates will return to action this weekend when they compete at Susquehanna's SU Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 2.
