Women's Soccer Suffers Setback at Elizabethtown

Kylee Altland kicks a ball during a game against Penn State Abington in 2022

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – A flurry of scoring early in the second half undid Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team in a 3-1 setback at Elizabethtown in non-conference action on Tuesday night, Sept. 27.

After a scoreless first half, Etown (4-4) struck just seconds after the break, burying back-to-back markers during a span of less than two minutes. The first came just 37 seconds into the second half and the second came 1:45 later.

The Lions (5-3-2) cut the deficit in half just 62 seconds later when Kylee Altland put her attempt past Elizabethtown goalkeeper Trinity Soto in the 48th minute.

Penn State Harrisburg continued to press the issue throughout the second half but the Blue Jays added an insurance marker in the 75th minute that created breathing room that held up the rest of the way.

- Altland's goal was her team-leading sixth of the season.
