LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to her hot start to the 2024 campaign, Penn State Harrisburg's Cara Biesecker has been named the United East Volt Division Softball Player of the Week.

Biesecker joins teammate Mackenzie Sawdey (3/4) as Penn State Harrisburg players to earn the conference's weekly honor this season.

Biesecker was as tough an out as they come during the team's run in Myrtle Beach, S.C. last week. The freshman slashed .800/.818/.800 with a 1.618 OPS, racking up eight hits, scoring four runs, and driving in four more. The Maytown, Pa. native currently leads the United East Volt Division with a .600 batting average.

The Lions (5-1) host York (Pa.) for doubleheader action in their home opener at Courtney Pollock Memorial Field on Tuesday afternoon.
