Hartman Named CAC Pitcher of the Week

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Thanks to her strong efforts to begin the 2019 campaign, Penn State Harrisburg's Allison Hartman has been named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Hartman led the Lions (3-0) to a pair of wins inside the circle to open the season and contributed at the plate in the team's third win of the weekend. The hurler allowed just three hits and one walk to go along with six strikeouts in a six-inning, 9-0 shutout win over Cedar Crest on Saturday before recording a complete-game victory over Wesley the next day. Against the Wolverines, the senior scattered four hits with no walks and struck out six batters without surrendering an earned run. In two outings, she racked up 12 strikeouts with a 0.00 ERA in 13 innings pitched. She also made an impact at the plate, hitting .300 and slugging .500 with two doubles and a pair of RBI through three games.

The Lions continue their spring break action against Castleton and Eastern Mennonite on Monday afternoon before wrapping things up against Gwynedd Mercy and Grove City on Tuesday, March 5.
